The Crab and Winkle Line Trust is a charity which was formed on the 3rd May 1997. The trust was formed to bring the route of the Canterbury to Whitstable Railway back into public use. Around 40% of the route is now accessible and is part of the National Cycle Network Route 1.

The Trust has two visions:

1) To reclaim the path as a public access link between Canterbury and Whitstable to take people safely along the old railway line

2) To promote the history of the Crab and Winkle Line

The route has now become very popular with pedestrians and cyclists. It is because of this that the trust is committed to providing a safe passage for all.
