We believe that an off-road footpath and cycle path through the heart of Whitstable would be a real asset to the town. It would let children get to local primary schools and the Community College safely, as well as let locals and visitors alike get easily to local woodland, the University and to Canterbury. The land behind Clare Road is currently overgrown and unused. We should not allow it to be developed with houses. A well-maintained, environmentally friendly path is exactly what the town needs.
